さっぱりわかりません。そもそも、「オープンソース」と「バザール型開発」とは全く別のものですし。八田氏は、両者をあまりに混同していませんか? 「オープンソース」と「GNU GPL」をも混同しているような気もするし。 「GNU GPL」を採用する「オープンソース」ソフトウェアである Linuxが「バザール型開発」の最良の成功事例の 1 つであることは否定しないけれど、だからと言って「オープンソース = GNU GPL」じゃないし「オープンソース = バザール型開発」でもないわけで。
_ とのことであるが、混同するもなにも、混同したくないからわざわざ分けて書いているのですよ? この2つを一緒くたにする人があまりにも多いから、あの文章では意識的に分けて書いているのだ。だいたい、文中でわざわざVz エディタの例まで出して説明しているのになんでこういう勘違いをするんだろう。
_ おまけに私が「オープンソース」と「GNU GPL」を混同しているそうだが、一体どこをどう読めばそういう話になるんだ?(笑) LinuxはGPL'dだから成功したなんて書いたっけ? GPLやBSDといった特定のライセンスだけしか認めないとか嫌ですよね、と書かなかったか? だいたい、文中で「オープンソースはバザールの必須条件じゃない」とわざわざ書いているのになんでこういう勘違いをするんだろう。
_ まあ、答えは簡単で、ちゃんと読んでないのに感想書いたんでしょうね。ちゃんと読んでこれだと少々重症だ(笑)。長いし読みにくいのかも知れないが、きちんと読み直してまた感想を書いて下さることを期待します。
